Waynflete Lower School

Portland, Maine

The new 30,000 SF Waynflete Lower School in Portland, Maine doubled in size from the existing space.  The project is a pre-certified PHIUS+ 2015 project.  The new building combines the four age groups and organizes the students around a central lobby and an atrium that runs through the middle of the building. Organized into two wings joined by the atrium and a shared classroom, natural daylight flows into three sides of each classroom grouping.

The facility includes flexible learning spaces for PS/K, 1/2, 3/4, and 4/5 grade students, as well as art studio and after school spaces on the lower level.

Allied Engineering provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection engineering services.
